Re: Martin Braithwaite
He's very underwhelming and yet he still has zero interest in playing for us.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
He's obviously seen enough of Antonio to realise he ain't getting ahead of him, is the more likely scenario.

"Having played for Esbjerg, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Middlesbrough and Leganes in his career, the 30-year-old wants to enjoy the most competitive football he can and be in good shape for the World Cup next year."

Thank fuck he's really stupid

The Stoat,

Braithwaite: That feeling when you decide you'll covertly take the last ugly bird home from the club and not tell your mates about it and then she rejects you.

Yeah. That.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
That article simply CANNOT be true as "Lady" Brady told us that ANY PLAYER IN THE WORLD would want to play for us at the OS.

Was she lying?

He is the new Iain Dowie but without the degree in mechanical engineering

Re: Martin Braithwaite
I remember seeing this prick play for Middlesbrough around 3 years ago. He was utter shite. He wasn't much better in the Euros.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
Charoo,

Agree. He physical and there's effort. He's also faster then Origi who we are also being linked with.

IF we get Lingard and this lump, I will be content that Antonio has cover for Cup and Europe.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
Vexed, that’s exactly what he’ll do, he’s quite strong and he’ll run the channels, he’ll give us the space to get up the pitch.

Bowen, Lingard, Benrahma will be more of a goal scoring threat.

If Braithwaite scored 10 I’d be astounded but I think he can play in a similar bullish way to Antonio.

I think Moyes wants a grafter who will battle and play in a similar vein to MA.

I still don’t think it will happen unless it’s a loan but I’d rather him than no one as a back up.

I guess he'll probably run around a lot? Maybe he'll be a nuisance. Desperate times.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
My view on Braithwaite is largely based on whether or not we Lingard is coming to us, If he is and the price is minimal for him then I see it as sensible squad padding.

If Lingard isn't coming then he would be replacement for Antonio or Bowen would get a lot of game time and is not of the quality we need.

If we need a squad striker then he's ok. If we need a back up striker then Origi (again better choices out there but we haven't got the money) would be better.

Barcelona will accept pretty much any bid for anyone right now.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
Why would he want to leave Barcelona to come and play for West Ham?

He started for them and score 2 goals. I expect he's pretty happy right now.

Re: Martin Braithwaite
All of that (below) depends on the deal, though.

If we spend anything 'big' on him, then I'd say we've wasted chances to splash more and bring in somebody like Belotti (but I think GSB have made it clear they're not in that market).

Re: Martin Braithwaite
I'd quite like to see what he could do with us - providing we don't pay through the nose for him.

Clearly, he wouldn't be most people's first choice of new striker. But we have to be realistic about the current situation. Whether we like it or not (I don't!), GSB are not going to be spending big in what remains of the transfer window. They've barely spent at all - so let's get realistic about what's (not) coming.

Given where we are right now, I'd take this fella to give us back-up in the Premier League and to play in some European matches. We are running out of options and time - which, of course, says more about the way the club is run at board/CEO level than anything else.

In addition, there is little doubt that Braithwaite has improved at Barcelona. Sure, he's not world-class. But equally he's not the same player Middlesbrough signed either.
